Used Ram 1500 windshields, glass & sunroofs
We sell used Ram 1500 windshields, rear and quarter glass, sunroof assemblies and wiper arms from 2009 to 2026 trucks. Glass is matched by body first, then by what is bonded to it: a rain sensor, a heated wiper park area, a toll transponder window or, on a 2019 and later truck with forward collision warning, the bracket for the camera that looks through it. That camera is the reason a windshield on a newer truck is a booked job rather than a driveway one, and we say so before you buy.
Why does a newer windshield need the camera recalibrated?
Because on a 2019 and later DT fitted with forward collision warning or lane keeping, the camera that runs those systems is mounted to the windshield and aims through it. Move the glass and you move the camera's aim. After the new windshield is bonded in, the camera has to be recalibrated so the truck knows exactly where it is pointing, and that is done with manufacturer equipment by a glass shop or dealer set up for it. A truck driving around on an uncalibrated camera can brake for something that is not there or miss something that is. So on any DT windshield we ask one question first: does your truck have forward collision warning or lane keeping. If yes, budget for the calibration alongside the glass.

Is used glass a sensible thing to buy?
For a windshield, usually not, and we would rather tell you that than take the money. A new aftermarket windshield is not expensive, a used one has to survive removal and transport intact, and any chip in it becomes a crack the first cold morning. Where used glass genuinely makes sense is everything that is not the windshield: a rear window with a working defroster, a power slider, a quarter glass, a sunroof assembly, or a wiper arm. Those are dear from a dealer, rarely damaged in the part of the truck we are dismantling, and swap straight over.
What is checked before glass is tagged?
- Chips, cracks and edge nibbles, under a light, because an edge chip is what starts a crack.
- Delamination or clouding at the edges on older glass.
- Defroster grid checked warming on the donor where fitted.
- Sliders and sunroofs run through their full travel on the donor, motor and seals noted.
- Brackets and sensors present and unbroken, and the camera bracket photographed on a DT windshield.
Getting glass to you in Ontario
Glass is the one category where we lean hard toward pickup. A rear window or quarter glass can be crated and sent by freight within Ontario on request, but glass in transit is a risk somebody has to carry and a pane that arrives cracked has lost all of its value, so we price freight honestly and tell you the odds rather than quietly pass the risk to you. Sunroof assemblies travel better than bare panes because the cassette protects the glass. Wiper arms ship anywhere by courier without any of this fuss.
