**We sell used Ram 1500 catalytic converters, fuel pumps, fuel tanks and exhaust sections**: matched to the exact engine, from 2009 to 2026 5.7 HEMI and 3.6 Pentastar trucks. Every converter we sell is tied to its donor: the truck's year, VIN and the date it was removed are kept on file and stated with the part, not sold as an anonymous core. Fitment is engine-specific before it is generation-specific, so we confirm your engine code first.

## Why does a used catalytic converter need to come with a story?

Because a converter with no history behind it is exactly what a stolen one looks like. Catalytic converter theft has been a real problem across Ontario for several years, which has made buyers understandably careful about where a used one came from. Ours are pulled in our own shop from a truck we can name: the donor's year, trim and VIN, and the date it was taken apart, are recorded against the part and shown in the quote. That is not a legal requirement we are citing, it is simply how we run the shop, and it is the difference between a used part and a part with no paper trail.

## Which converter fits which engine?

**Ram 1500 catalytic converters and exhaust, by engine**

| Engine | Converter layout | Trucks | Note |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 5.7L HEMI V8 | Two close-coupled converters, one per bank, ahead of the Y-pipe | 2009 to 2026, DS, Classic and DT | Manifold-mounted; the exhaust manifold usually comes off with it |
| 5.7L HEMI eTorque | Same two-converter layout | 2019 to 2026 DT | Calibration differs from non-eTorque; match the exact engine build |
| 3.6L Pentastar V6 | One converter per bank, smaller than the HEMI's | 2013 to 2024 DS and Classic, 2019 to 2026 DT | DS and DT Pentastar converters are not the same part |

A converter is an emissions part with a Stellantis part number specific to the engine and, on later trucks, the emissions certification the truck was built to. A universal aftermarket converter can be made to fit almost anything; a used OEM one only fits what it came off, which is exactly why we ask for your engine code before quoting rather than just the truck's year.

## Does Ontario test emissions before I can drive on a used converter?

No. Ontario cancelled the Drive Clean passenger-vehicle emissions test in an announcement on 28 September 2018, and the program ended on 1 April 2019; there is no provincial tailpipe test to pass with a used converter today. What still matters is your own truck's onboard diagnostics: a converter that is cracked, melted internally or the wrong one for your engine can trip the catalyst efficiency monitor and light the check engine lamp, which is the practical reason to buy the correct, tested part rather than whatever is cheapest.

## What is checked before a converter or exhaust part is tagged?

- **Engine and part-number match**: against the donor's build, not just the truck's year.
- **Rattle test**: , shaken to listen for a broken substrate, which sounds like loose gravel inside.
- **Mounting flanges and oxygen sensor bosses**: for stripped threads or cracks.
- **Heat shields**: present, since a missing shield is a known cause of a rattling or ticking exhaust.

## Fuel pumps, fuel tanks and exhaust sections

The in-tank fuel pump and the tank itself are matched to the engine and, on later trucks, to whether the truck has the factory dual-tank or bed-mounted auxiliary tank option some fleets ordered; tell us if your truck has anything beyond the standard single tank. Mid-pipes, resonators and mufflers are matched to engine and, on 4x4 trucks, to the driveline clearance under the frame, so cab and drive type both matter. All of it is checked for holes, collapsed baffles and rusted-through sections before it is tagged.

## Shipping a converter or exhaust part across Ontario

A catalytic converter or a short mid-pipe section is a compact, dense package and ships by courier anywhere in Ontario, from Windsor to Ottawa, at the buyer's expense; we box it so the flanges cannot dig through the carton. A full exhaust system, a fuel tank or anything longer than a parcel box is pickup in the Hamilton Region or, on request, freight to a terminal near you. The [Ontario buying guide](https://dodgedaddy.ca/guides/buying-used-truck-parts-ontario/) covers HST, cores and what a yard is expected to keep on record.
